In the UK homeschooling is referred to as Elective Home Education.
Legislation is different in Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England although there are many commonalities.
The content and approach for home education is totally in the hands of the family and there is no prescribed curriculum.
Home education in the UK is considered to be amongst the most free in the Western World, however it is under constant attack from those in the UK that do not understand or value this freedom

She has home educated her seven children for over 25 years, and draws not only from her own experience, but also her knowledge gained from working with many home educating parents, within various home educating communities over the years.
